There are three draws each week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Holidays and special draws in France can occasionally mean that extra draws are held on other days, often with boosted jackpots.

Prizes and Odds of Winning the French Lotto
To win the France Lotto jackpot, you must match all five main numbers and the Chance number. There are also nine other ways to win, and you are guaranteed a prize as long as you match the Chance number. This gives you great odds of winning a prize in comparison with most other major worldwide and domestic lotteries.

The top prize starts at €2 million and goes up by €1 million every time it is not won. It can roll over a maximum of 34 times before it has to be won, in which case the jackpot will be shared between players in the next highest division if there are no 'Match 5 + Chance' winners.
Special Draws, known as Super Loto draws, are also scheduled from time to time to mark certain key dates such as Valentine's Day. These draws can take place outside of the normal schedule of Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, and will be announced in advance. The jackpot is boosted up to an advertised figure.
The special draw that takes place at Christmas time is called Grand Loto de Noel and also offers an enhanced jackpot such as €20 million.
Loto Raffle and 2nd Tirage Draws
France Lotto gives you more chances to win with its associated Raffle and Tirage games. These are available for players in France, but may not be for international players depending on the service used.
In the raffle, you receive a random nine-digit code alongside your Lotto numbers. Ten winning codes are selected at random in each draw, and you receive €20,000 if you match one of the codes exactly.
The 2nd Tirage ('Tirage' means draw) requires you to pay a small additional fee to take part. The main numbers you selected for Lotto are entered into this separate draw, and you win prizes if you match at least two of the winning numbers. There is no Chance number in 2nd Tirage.
