How do I play Matchplay 14?
To play Matchplay 14, predict the outcome of the 14 featured soccer matches on the latest fixture list. Select whether each match will end in a home win, a draw or an away win. Go to the How to Play page for more information.
Do I have to predict the outcome of every match?
Yes. If you want to predict fewer matches, the Matchplay 9/14 game uses the same fixture list but only requires you to bet on nine of the games. It is also possible to select more than one outcome for some of the fixtures if you’re not sure of your prediction.
Can I play a QuickPick?
Yes, a Quick Pick allows you to play multiple boards – up to a maximum of 256 – at the same time.
How do I win a Matchplay 14 prize?
Prizes are available for getting 11 or more predictions correct out of 14. A percentage of the prize pool is given to each tier.
How much does it cost to play Matchplay 14?
The cost per play is R2 for Matchplay 14.
What is the minimum age to play?
You must be at least 18 years old to play Matchplay 14, or any other South Africa Lottery game.
Can I play Matchplay 14 in advance?
No, as the fixture lists are only confirmed a few days before each round and they are always different, so you cannot make the same predictions for a different set of matches.
Where can I get the latest fixture list?
Go to the Matchplay 14 Fixtures page to see the next round of matches that you can bet on. You can also obtain fixture lists from National Lottery retailers.
What are the odds of winning?
The odds of getting all 14 predictions correct are 1 in 47,782,969, if you make your selections at random. Soccer games are not based on pure chance in the same way as lottery draws, though.
Do penalty shootouts count towards the result?
No. The full-time score is taken at the end of the standard game. This includes injury time but does not count any extra time or a penalty shootout that may be played.
What happens if one of the scheduled matches does not take place?
All bets placed on that fixture are settled as correct if there is a postponement. It doesn’t matter if you predicted a Home win, Away win or Draw, it still counts as a correct prediction.
What happens if nobody wins the top prize?
If nobody gets all 14 predictions correct, the prize money rolls over to Division 1 of the next draw, setting up the chance to win an even larger jackpot.
What is the claim limit for prizes?
You must claim any prizes you win within 365 days of the relevant draw date.
