PowerBall XTRA Prizes
Enter PowerBall XTRA and get the chance to win one of nine different prizes, on top of anything you win in the main PowerBall draw. You can win a prize just by matching the PowerBall, and there's a multimillion-rand jackpot on offer in each twice-weekly draw. The top prize can sometimes be worth more than the jackpot in the main game.
Prize Payouts
The PowerBall XTRA prize structure is similar to that of the main draw, with the main difference in most draws being the fixed amounts paid out in the lower divisions. The top three prize categories all receive a certain percentage of the overall prize pool, which is then split equally between the winners.

The money needed to pay winners in the fixed-prize divisions is taken from the prize pool first, and then the remaining money is split according to the percentages shown in the table.
There is no minimum jackpot unless a special guaranteed jackpot draw is held. In past draws, the estimated starting jackpot in PowerBall XTRA has ranged from R922,000 to R7,073,123,.
Jackpot Cascades
From June 2026, the final draw of each calendar month is guaranteed to be won. There is a Jackpot Cascade if no tickets match all the numbers – the money rolls down to Division 2 and is split between winners who match all five main numbers without the PowerBall. If nobody wins in Division 2, the jackpot goes down to Division 3. The jackpot then resets for the first draw of the next month.
