Sportstake Propicks: How They Work
This page tells you all about Propick, the automated bet generator for Sportstake games. Find out how it works, how to select it on your betslip, and all the available bet sizes you have to choose from, for both Sportstake 13 and Sportstake 8.
What is 'Propick'?
Propick is a system that automatically generates predictions for Sportstake fixtures. The predictions created by the Propick system are partly random and partly based on weighted statistics and results from previous matches.
To play Sportstake with a Propick selection, you just have to choose one of the predefined bet sizes on your betslip. Propick will then generate a Multi-Play entry with the number of boards you selected. The minimum number of boards you can play with a Propick selection is four, and the maximum is 256.
Like manual Multi-Play entries, you pay R2 per board, so Propick selections range in cost from R8 to R512. You won’t see which predictions the system has generated until you’ve paid for your betslip and received your ticket.
As with any standard lottery, the more combinations you cover, the better your chances of winning. That’s where Propick comes in. By opting for a Propick, you can dramatically improve your chances, even with the smallest Propick bet. It is still not guaranteed that you will win, but you make it more likely.
Sportstake 13 Propick bet sizes
On your Sportstake 13 betslip you will see eight predefined Propick bets, each one for a different number of boards and costing a different amount. When you select one of these options, the Propick system will generate the number of boards you have selected.
The table below shows which bet sizes you can choose from, the cost of each, the odds of winning, and a breakdown of the predictions you receive.

A single is when one outcome (home win, draw, or away win) is marked on one fixture. A double is when two out of the three outcomes are marked for one fixture, and a triple is when all three outcomes are marked for a single fixture.
There is no guarantee which bets will be applied to which fixtures. That will be determined by the Propick system when the entry is generated.
Sportstake 8 Propick bet sizes
Propick works exactly the same way in Sportstake 8, right down to the predefined bet sizes you can choose from: a minimum of four boards to a maximum of 256. The only differences are in the odds of winning and the number of predictions per board (16 rather than 13).

Further Information About Propick
Propick is the quickest and easiest way to place your Sportstake bets, as you only have to mark one box on your betslip. Please note the following points when opting to play Sportstake with a Propick selection:
- You must select just one of the predefined Propick selections on the betslip. Your slip will be rejected if you mark more than one of the options.
- You cannot select a Propick and choose your own numbers on the same betslip; the slip will be rejected by the lottery terminal. If you want to play Propick and manual predictions in the same round of fixtures, you are encouraged to fill in a betslip with your predictions and request a Propick separately over the counter.
- Although the predictions generated by the Propick system are partly based on previous results, there is no guarantee that the selections are any more likely to win than manual predictions.
- The four-board (R8) Propick bet is not available online for Sportstake 8.
